Battery
Some time ago I saw that it was possible to fit a EA-BL08 battery into a SL-3200 although I forget where. As these are much cheaper than the EA-BL11 I bought one to try. However, when fitted the charging light shows but it doesn't seem to work, can anyone help?

What worked for me was to carefully rub the battery on a piece of sandpaper until you have removed some of the plastic. Do it carefully on paper that is not very coarse and try and get it to come off evenly all the way across...the plastic comes off easily so be careful. Make the plastic on the contact end half as thick as it comes out of the package. Hope this helps.

I had to also put a couple
I had to also put a couple layers of tape on the side opposite the contacts. That probaby means I didn't take enough plastic off, though.

Thanks for your good advice, I will certainly give it a try. I assume I will also have to reduce the length of the upstanding bit next to the contacts.
I didn't have to. I think
I didn't have to. I think it's just the plastic around the contacts physically stops the contacts from touching. If the above doesn't work, feel free to try it, though (after sanding some more).
