First off, no worries, tyrannozaurus.com isn't going anywhere.
Secondly, I'm getting N810, so I'm still going to be in the portalbe Linux devices fun town. :) (I'll probably add a Nokia section to ty, if you guys don't mind too much)
When the kids get a bit older and I have more time to hack around, I'll probably pick up a Zaurus again. I just can't afford both right now. I know the N810 isn't perfect, but I've balanced the tradeoffs and I feel it's worth it for me.

Not sure how much you'll miss it
I think if you went for an n800 you'd miss the zaurus and the flexibility due to its keyboard. I think you'll find the n810's keyboard limiting at first, but the built-in gps + wifi + bluetooth will probably help you forgive it.
Having an n800, z c3200 and z 6000, I find it's the 3200 that I turn to if I want to do anything involved intense text entry.
