HoloVector: Very OT, but if you're customizing a Z for children to use, maybe you should look at some X11-based distro and the OLPC Sugar interface? (On Debian, it appears to be as easy as "apt-get install sugar")

Have you guys played with an XO yet?
They did a presentation on them at our local Unix Users Group.
Pretty neat devices. I think they have their place.

I've been wanting to play with an EEEPC as well (I'm hoping they'll come to my local big box store some day).

I just recommended the interface because it's designed for kids :D

Good to see you back Antikx, you definitely were missed....I am playing around with an xo, not sure what to think of it. I would like to change the operating system but can't seem to get any reply to my request for a development number. By the way, the webcam on it is the best i've seen. Welcome back.

Thanks for the tip Capn_Fish but, my son has really taken to the Qtopia interface besides which if I took away his theKompany games, I'd never hear the end of it. :)

My wife and I came very close to ordering an OLPC for my son but, grog's old 860 was better deal and he has been asking me for a Zaurus since I got my C1000. ;)
