Are You a New Member of tyrannozaurus or oesf?

Are you having trouble getting help? Just a little note about a few things, for those of you who might be getting frustrated trying to post at oesf, or with not getting answers to your questions here at tyrannozaurus.

If you haven't already figured it out, the Zaurus has many models and distributions or ROMs. While all Zaurii have much in common, there are major differences between the models and ROMs, and many newbie questions can only be adequately answered by other users of the same model and ROM. The rest of us can try, but may not be able to reply with definitive answers.

So, for example, I have an sl5500 with ROM 2.38. I know basic Linux stuff, but I know very little about pdaXrom variants or the newer Cxxx models. And, while tyrannozaurus is my favorite, most comfortable community, sometimes it makes more sense for me to post a specific question elsewhere if I want to reach more people familiar with my model and ROM.

   http://www.oesf.org/forum is the granddaddy and biggest of them all, and I believe the best place to post questions that are for a specific ROM or older model of Zaurus, because more people will see your post and be able to respond.

Once you register at oesf, though, since oesf is so overrun by bots and spammers applying for membership, you must post something about your zaurus in the "Guest / Validating" Forum there, so the admins will know that you are a real, live Zaurus or embedded device owner needing help or wanting to contribute to the community! You will not be able to post in any other subforum there until your status had been changed from "Validating" to "Member".
