cross-posting is naughty, and a keyboard is hardware ... or should this have been in the software forum because it involves config files? Anyway ...

Visited the UK recently and treated myself to a Nano keyboard (KeySonic). Haven't yet tried the "plug in, start, Plug'n'Play" suggested in the box, but all the alpha and numerics are OK out of the box. Other important things like square brackets and braces can be achieved by experiment; angle brackets, and the all-important Menu key, no sign.

I've stared, bemused, at KeyHelperConf and I'm none the wiser. Can anyone give me patient, detailed instructions on how to set things up? and tell me whether I'll also need to switch between configurations when I attach the USB keyboard? Thought there was already something here, but forum searches don't turn anything up at all.

Thanks in advance!

[ps] if anyone else is after the same hardware, I found it in Maplin's.

Keyhelper is a hard one. I do not know if it will work on c1000. I don't have time to summarize my trials and tribulations trying it on my sl5500. I suggest searching on "keyhelper" at oesf where the gurus have posted a lot about using it. You'll find my detailed posts about my attempts at it there, as well.

Oh, about forum searches, go to the ty archive, and do a search there. Just remember to add /old2 to each tyrannozaurus.com page you want to access. I don't recall seeing it there, but could be wrong.

I did find the link to the Keyhelper wiki page at oesf:

http://www.oesf.org/index.php?title=Introduction_to_KeyHelper

It's quite well done, but the discussion threads about Keyhelper are probably also essential. Search on "keyhelper" and look at the oldest threads first.

I'll ponder the content of the oesf wiki page repeatedly and at leisure.
