Off-site links to old site broken

I have LOTS of links to ty from my websites, and anyone clicking on those links gets a 'page not found' error.
There's gotta be a way to fix that on mine and other folks sites without us having to go thru and painfully retrieve the exact URL for each link from archive.org, if the pages are there.
Can you do anything that would direct such old urls to a page telling people how to find the old site archive?
This is one reason for decreased usage of TY ... IMNSHO.

I think this is a serious issue. Not giving search engines access to the archive has destroyed the value of all the good work we put into ty over the past year. People are floundering because of it.
