Battery

Some time ago I saw that it was possible to fit a EA-BL08 battery into a SL-3200 although I forget where. As these are much cheaper than the EA-BL11 I bought one to try. However, when fitted the charging light shows but it doesn't seem to work, can anyone help?
New Openmoko phone shipping
as an FYI,
...the new Openmoko phone "Neo FreeRunner" is now shiping:

Hats off to the hardware, software and project teams!
C1000 and lots of accessories for sale.
Hey there,
I'm selling my C1000 and accessories:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120273509454
First off, no worries, tyrannozaurus.com isn't going anywhere.
Secondly, I'm getting N810, so I'm still going to be in the portalbe Linux devices fun town. :) (I'll probably add a Nokia section to ty, if you guys don't mind too much)
When the kids get a bit older and I have more time to hack around, I'll probably pick up a Zaurus again. I just can't afford both right now. I know the N810 isn't perfect, but I've balanced the tradeoffs and I feel it's worth it for me.
active user list
kind of misleading, it really is a list of who has logged in most recently as far as I can tell.
reword the following:
Here is a list of users sorted by
most active: users
to maybe add one word (recently):
most recently active: users

Updates
Hey,
Here's some stuff I've fixed and or double-checked today:
index tested and working:
================
http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/custom/
http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/pdaxiiv2/
http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/unstable/
http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/feed/
http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/cacko/install
http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/contribs/erkluelaneu
http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/contribs/everyone-pdaxrom/
http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/contribs/telemetric
Feed pdaxiiv2 only work with index.html

The feed was http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/pdaxiiv2,
now work only if you add index.html
so http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/pdaxiiv2/index.html
All the Pdaxiiv2 users have the feed not working, I will inform in oesf, so is good to fix.
Thanks
Roberto

Have fun with Aliases
I just recently added some new examples, as well as a brief explanation of how to add an alias permanently to your .bashrc file. And you can add as many as you want!
For those who don't know, the bash shell most of us have on the command line has all kinds of nifty features that can make command line life a lot more fun and efficient than working with GUIs! I live on the command line on my Z, and use aliases and my own short shell scripts all the time.

Are You a New Member of tyrannozaurus or oesf?
Are you having trouble getting help? Just a little note about a few things, for those of you who might be getting frustrated trying to post at oesf, or with not getting answers to your questions here at tyrannozaurus.
If you haven't already figured it out, the Zaurus has many models and distributions or ROMs. While all Zaurii have much in common, there are major differences between the models and ROMs, and many newbie questions can only be adequately answered by other users of the same model and ROM. The rest of us can try, but may not be able to reply with definitive answers.

Restoring wlan-ng.conf, no "sdmgr" problem....

I'm very new to my sl-5500, and to linux in general. I'm attempting to use a Lucent (Orinoco) WaveLAN Gold wireless card with my Zaurus via pcmcia to cf adapter. While editing wlan-ng.conf with vi, I must have made a mistake as it didn't work, and now I have no sd card support. Upon startup I can see something about sdmgr[97]: no such device. Any idea what I did to cause the sd issues?
USB keyboard

cross-posting is naughty, and a keyboard is hardware ... or should this have been in the software forum because it involves config files? Anyway ...
Visited the UK recently and treated myself to a Nano keyboard (KeySonic). Haven't yet tried the "plug in, start, Plug'n'Play" suggested in the box, but all the alpha and numerics are OK out of the box. Other important things like square brackets and braces can be achieved by experiment; angle brackets, and the all-important Menu key, no sign.

cf microdrive replacement

well just taught i would add my 5cents
I recently decided to switch microdrive with a 16GB cf card
many would be wondering why the hell id' do that... well i'm among those many too :D
i did it out of curiosity (i saw a hardware mod site in japanese that described the procedure)
it is quite simple really just pop open the Z, switch the drive et voila.. works
after installing pdaxii13 i noticed that Z became more responsive (especially notable increase in start time was noted with wi-fi radar), start up time from idle remains the same. this is probably due to access times that vary between the cf and the microdrive, also the battery lasts longer (i didn't really time it)
Well that's that
my Z is SL-C3200 running pdaxii13 with v2 upgrade
